Quality of Public Education

I am utterly opposed to sending taxpayer dollars to private schools. Our public schools need much more funding than they currently receive in order to maintain or build new schools; to adequately fund textbooks, computers and all other learning materials; and to compensate teachers as true professionals. For teachers who have paid into both Social Security and state pension programs, laws must be changed to allow them to receive benefits they’ve earned from both programs. And those students who do not go on to college should leave public school with a useful trade.
